Dr. Ara S. Moomjian founded the Special Care Nursery at Abington Hospital in 1982. Dr. Moomjian led the division as Chief of Neonatology from 1982-2014, and now continues to teach medical students at Abington Hospital. What began as a 4-bed unit steadily grew over time and is now a 34-bed Level 3 NICU at the largest and most experienced delivery hospital in eastern Pennsylvania.

While it may have grown in size, our commitment to our community has never wavered. Our practice is made up of a team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants who are dedicated to providing the best care to every single baby and their families.
